Selfiyanti Adam. NIM. 321 408 099. 2015. Skripsi : A Study on Students' Ability In Writing Recount Text (A study conducted to the 3rd grade students of class at IX-6 At SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo of 2012/2013 Academic Year).
The objective of this research is to know the ability of students at SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo in writing recount text. The population of this research is the all the students of the third grade in the class IX-6 in SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo of 2012 / 2013 of academic year as the source data. The total of students is 26.
The method used in the research is descritive qualitative method. By using this method, I described the students' ability in composing recount text. In collecting the data, I used writing test as the insturument.
From the anlysis of the data, shows that the students' ability in the third grade in composing recount text was categorized into poor. The students' writing ability in vocabulary aspects is 54. 7 %, it means their ability is categorized poor. The students' writing ability in form aspects is 59.52 %, it means that the students' ability in form aspects categorized into poor. The students' ability in grammar aspects is 57. 14 %, it means that the students' ability in grammar aspects categorized into poor. The students' ability in mechanic aspects is 67.85 %, it means the students' ability in mechanic aspects categorized into good.
