Abstrak
The effctivenness of reciprocal teaching method in improving students' speaking skill (a study conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Talaga Jaya 2014/2015 academc years). English Department, letters and Culture Faculty, Gorontalo state University. Advisor: (1) Nonny Bassalama, M.A., Ph.D. Advisor (2) Indri wirahmi Bay, S.Pd, M.A This research was done at clash VIIIc in SMPN 1 Talaga Jaya which consists of 30 students. The objective of this research is knowing the effectivenes of reciprocal teaching method innimproving speaking skill students'. The method of this research is quantitative pre-experiment design. Tehnique of collecting the data is using AS-Unit (Analysis Speech Unit). The data was analyzed by using T-test formula analysis. The result of this research conclude that reciprocal teaching teaching method of teaching can improve students' speaking skill. It could be viewed from the percentage before andbafter the method application. After giving the treatment, speaking skill of the whole students' were improved form 45.33% to 62.66% and the calculation of the T-test show that Tcount > Tlist. Tcount 4,49 > Tlist 2,045.
