The aim of this study was to prove wether the mnemonic technique can increase student ability in writing simple English sentence or not. The sample was 13 students chosen by purposive sampling. This study used quantitative method using pre experimental in analyzing the data and used t-test to analysis the data and to test the hypothesis. This study used the rainbow cards as the tool of mnemonic technique that applied in 3 strategies in learning process. The result showed that there was a progress in students writing from pre test to post test data. In pretest data, the students writing count in 21,38%, and in the post-test it count 43,46%. It increased 21,08%. Moreover, the result t-test, the researcher found t count t list or 0,1204 0,234 and this was appropriate with the criteria of hypothesis verification that (h0) will be accepted if t count t list. It proved that mnemonic increased student ability in writing simple English sentence.
