This study aims (1) analyze the pollution intensity of polluted insulator; (2) determine the conductivity of the surface of polluted insulator; (3) determine the profile of insulators in accordance with the level of environmental pollution. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry and High Voltage Polytecnic Ujung Pandang. The methot used in this study is the sampling of pollutans on the ceramic insulators in the swictyard GI tract milestone Pangkep at two different point, namely at the top of the insulator and the bottom fin fin insulators. Furthermore, the element composition measurement of pollutans and pollutant solution conductivity. In addition, the test also conducted to test the high voltage insulator surface conductivity in clean and polluted condition. Furthemore, the results obtained are used to evaluate the ion of insulators mounted and formulate appropriate insulator for high pollution conditions in the GI. Pangkep. The result showed that the pollution intensity of GI Pangkep ESDD value of 3.20043 mg/cm2 (pollutant levels of dissolved heavy) and NSDD value of 0.0808 mg/cm2 (insoluble pollutant levels low). Maximum leakage current values obtained at test conditions polluted wet (by spraying pollutant GI Pangkep 4.87 mA.
