Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran penyidik polres gorontalo dalam penyelesaian tindak pidana malpraktik di kabupaten gorontalo, dan juga mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang menghambat peran penyidik kepolisian Polres Gorontalo dalam menyelesaikan tindak pidana malpraktik.Jenis penelitian ini adalah empiris, penelitian ini dilakukan di Polres Gorontalo Kabupaten Gorontalo, dengan mengumpulkan data yang berhubungan dengan peran penyidik kepolisian dalam menyelesaikan tindak pidana malpraktik di Polres Gorontalo Kabupaten Gorontalo.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran penyidik kepolisian Polres Gorontalo dalam menyelesaikan tindak pidana malpraktik belum efektif dikarenakan dari 4 kasus yang dilaporkan dalam kurun 3 tahun hanya ada 1 kasus yang dapat diselesaikan oleh pihak penyidik kepolisian. Faktor-faktor yang menghambat penyidik kepolisian khususnya Polres Gorontalo dalam menyelesaikan tindak pidana malpraktik antara lain: penyidik kepolisian sulit menentukan bahwa ada tidaknya unsur pidana dalam kasus malpraktik tersebut, bukti-bukti yang sangat minim. Kendala lainnya dalam proses penyelesaian datang dari keluarga korban itu sendiri karena setelah akan dimintai keterangan lebih lanjut guna untuk melengkapi data, keluarga korban sulit untuk dihubungi karena sering berpindah tempat.

The research aims to find out the role ef investigator of polres (precinct police station) gorontalo is settling malpractice criminal offence in gorontalo regency, and to identify the factors inhibiting the role of investigator of polres gorontalo in settling malpractice criminal offence in gorontalo regency. The research is classified as empirical reseach conducted in polres gorontalo in goontalo regency. The data collected are related to the role of investigator in polres (prcinct police station) gorontalo in settling malpractice criminal offence in gorontalo regency.
The reseach finding reveals that the role of investigator in polres goontalo in settling malpractice criminal offence is not effective yet.it is due to out four cases filed in the police in three years, and only one case is settled. Meanhile, the factors in hibiting the role of investigator in polres gorontalo in settling malpractice criminal offence are: the invistigator is difficult to determine the criminal indication in the malpactice case and taek of evidence. In addition, another factor is associated ith the victimĢs family that is hard to be contacted and asked to complete the data needed because they often move place
