ABSTRAK Mirnaningsih Nani, 2012 Meningkatkan Kemampuan Siswa Membaca Permulaan Melalui Metode Bermain Kartu Kata Pada Kelas I SDN 10 Kecamatan Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo. Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Pembimbing I Dra. Dajani Suleman, M.Hum, dan Pembimbing II Dra. Hj. Pertiwi Laboro, M.Pd Rumusan Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah Apakah dengan menggunakan metode bermain kartu dapat meningkatkan Kemampuan siswa membaca permulaan di kelas I SDN 10 Kota barat kota gorontalo?. Adapun tujuan penelitian adalah Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa membaca permulaan melalui metode bermain kartu kata di kelas I SDN 10 Kec. Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo. Metode penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 11 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 6 orang siswa laki-laki dan 5 orang siswa perempuan di kelas I SDN No 10 Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo 2011-2012. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh pada kegiatan siklus I untuk hasil evaluasi capaian siswa dengan perolehan nilai minimal 70 nampak hanya 4 orang siswa atau 36 %. sedangkan untuk tindakan pembelajaran siklus II, hasil evaluasi capain siswa telah meningkat hingga mencapai 9 orang siswa atau 82 % dari hasil sebelumnya. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian bahwa melalui metode bermain kartu kata kemampuan siswa membaca permulaan menunjukan keberhasilan sesuai indikator yang diharapkan. Pertiwi Laboro, M Pd Problem formulation in this study is Is using playing cards can improve students' reading ability of starters in the class I SDN 10 western city of Gorontalo city?. The research goal is to improve students' ability to read the beginning through the method of playing cards in class I said SDN 10 district. Western city of Gorontalo city. The research method is a Class Action Research with the subjects in this study were 11 students consisting of 6 students male and 5 female students in the class I SDN No. 10 2011-2012 Gorontalo City West City. The results obtained on the activities of the I cycle to the performance evaluation of students with grades of at least 70 students appeared only 4 people or 36%. whereas for the second cycle of action learning, student evaluation results capain has increased to 9 students or 82% of the previous results. Conclusions from the study through the method of playing cards that the students' ability to read the beginning of the word indicates the expected success of the corresponding indicator.
