Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah kemampuan siswa memahami materi kenampakan alam dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas IV SDN 3 Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa memahami materi kenampakan alam dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas IV SDN 3 Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Prosedur pengumpulan data yang dikumpulkan dari penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa kemampuan siswa memahami materi kenampakan dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas IV SDN 3 Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo sudah maksimal. Hal tersebut berdasarkan hasil pre test dan post test yang menunjukan adanya pemahaman siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Sebelum pembelajaran pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kenampakan alam mencapai nilai 30. Setelah dijelaskan materi kemudian diadakan post test pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kenampakan alam mencapai nilai 86.

The problem in this research is how is the ability of students to understand the material appearance of nature in social studies learning in class IV SDN 3 Tilango Gorontalo District. The purpose of this study was to describe the students' ability to understand the natural appearance material in social studies learning in class IV SDN 3 Tilango, Gorontalo District. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection procedures were collected from this study in the form of observation, interviews and documentation.
Based on the results of the study, the ability of students to understand the appearance material in social studies learning in grade IV SDN 3 Tilango Gorontalo District was maximal. This is based on the results of the pre-test and post-test which show the students' understanding before and after learning. Before learning, students 'understanding of the natural appearance material reached a value of 30.After explaining the material, then a post test was held for students' understanding of the natural appearance material reaching a value of 86.
