Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah "Apakah melalui metode Role Playing kemampuan siswa menyimak cerita pada siswa kelas V di SDN 5 Mootilangi Kabupaten Gorontalo dapat meningkat? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menyimak Cerita Melalui Metode Role Playing di Kelas V SDN 5 Mootilango Kabupaten Gorontalo.
Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan/tindakan, pemantauan dan refleksi dalam dua kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan menyimak cerita melalui metode Role Playing, pada siklus I pertemuan I yang mampu 5 orang atau 38%, yang tidak mampu ada 8 atau 62 %, pada pertemuan II yang mampu 7 orang atau 54% dan yang tidak mampu 6 orang siswa atau 46%, sedangkan pada siklus II pertemuan I meningkat 9 orang atau 69%, dan yang tidak mampu 31% pada pertemuan II yang mampu11 orang siswa atau 85 %, yang tidak mampu 2 orang atau 15 %. Disimpulkan bahwa melalui metode role playing kemampuan menyimak cerita di kelas V SDN 5 Mootilango Kabupaten Gorontalo Meningakat.

The formulation of the problem in this study is "Is it through the Role Playing method the ability of students to listen to stories to fifth grade students at SDN 5 Mootilangi Gorontalo Regency can increase? "The purpose of this study is to Improve the Ability to Listen to Stories through the Role Playing Method in Class V of Mootilango Elementary School 5 in Gorontalo Regency.
This study uses a classroom action research design carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation / action, monitoring and reflection in two meetings. The results of this study indicate that the ability to listen to stories through the Role Playing method, in the first cycle of meeting I that is capable of 5 people or 38%, those who are not able are 8 or 62%, in the second meeting who are able to 7 people or 54% and those who cannot afford 6 students or 46%, while in the second cycle of meeting I increased 9 people or 69%, and those who were not able 31% in the meeting II were able to 11 students or 85%, who could not afford 2 people or 15%. It was concluded that through the role playing method the ability to listen to stories in the fifth grade of Mootilango Elementary School in Gorontalo District Meningakat.
