Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini "Apakah terdapat pengaruh metode survey, question, read, recite and review (SQ3R) terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN 84 Kota Tengah Kota Gorontalo?" Tujuan penelitian, untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode survey, question, read, recite and review (SQ3R) terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN 84 Kota Tengah Kota Gorontalo. Model penelitian ini, pendekatan kuantitatif metode eksperimen dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design.
Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes (pretest dan posttest) sedangkan observasi dan dokumentasi adalah penunjang. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V sebanyak 20 siswa. Hasil perolehan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 34,60 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 71,70. Hasil penelitian tersebut diperkuat dengan hasil uji t menggunakan taraf signifikan 0,05 (95% berpengaruh, 5% tidak berpengaruh) yang menyebutkan bahwa thitung > ttabel yaitu 13,01 > 2,09, sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Disimpulkan bahwa hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode survey, question, read, recite and review (SQ3R) terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN 84 Kota Tengah Kota Gorontalo.

This research is aimed at determining the influence of survey, question, read, recite and review (SQ3R) method towards students' comprehensive reading ability at grade V Elementary School SDN 84 Kota Tengah, Gorontalo city; this is formulated based on the problem statement of this research. This quantitative research employed an experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design.
The data were collected from test (pre-test and post-test), observation and documentation. Further, as many as 20 students were selected as the sample. The result shows that the average score of pre-test is 49.95, and the average score of post-test is 71.70. This result is strengthened by the result of t-test by using significance level 0.05 (95% has an influence, and 5% does not have an influence) revealing that tcount > ttable or 6,55 > 2,09. Therefore, H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. In brief, survey, question, read, recite and review (SQ3R) method does affect students' comprehensive reading ability in the site area.
