Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode multisensori terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa di kelas I SDN No. 48 Hulontalangi Kota Gorontalo. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan bentuk pre-experimental designs dengan jenis one group pretest-posttest design. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah variabel independen (X) yaitu metode multisensori sedangkan variabel dependen (Y) yaitu kemampuan membaca permulaan. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas satu diambil secara sampling jenuh sejumlah 17 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes membaca permulaan (pretest dan posttest) sedangkan observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai pelengkap. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji validitas konstrak, uji normalitas data dan uji hipotesis.
Hasil perolehan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 42,65 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 56,59. Hasil penelitian diperkuat dengan hasil uji t menggunakan taraf signifikan 0,05 yang menyebutkan bahwa thitung > ttabel yaitu 21,12 > 2,11. Sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Disimpulkan bahwa hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh metode multisensori terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa di kelas I SDN No. 48 Hulontalangi Kota Gorontalo.

This study intends to determine the effect of multisensory methods on the ability to read the beginning of students in class I SDN No. 48 Hulontalangi Gorontalo City. This research method uses a quantitative approach with pre-experimental designs with one group pretest-posttest design. The variable in this study is the independent variable (X) which is the multisensory method while the dependent variable (Y) is the ability to read the beginning. The study population was first-class students taken by saturated sampling of 17 students. Data collection techniques include preliminary reading tests (pretest and posttest) while observation and documentation are complementary. The data analysis technique used is the test of construct validity, data normality test and hypothesis testing.
The results of the average pretest score were 42.65 and the posttest average value was 56.59. The results of the study are reinforced by the results of the t test using a significant level of 0.05 which states that tcount> t table is 21.12> 2.11. So that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It was concluded that the results of this study showed that there were effects of multisensory methods on the ability to read the beginning of students in class I SDN No. 48 Hulontalangi Gorontalo City.
