Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah Apakah terdapat pengaruh metode discovery terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat utama di kelas VI SDN 10 Tilango Kecamatan Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo?. Adapun tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode Discovery terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat utama di kelas VI SDN 10 Tilango Kecamatan Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Metode penelitian Pre Eksperimental dengan nama desain One Group Pretest " Posttest. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah tes, observasi, treatmen atau perlakuan dan dokumentasi. Teknis analisis data menggunakan validitas konstruck (contruct validity), uji normalitas menggunakan uji Liliefors, dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji thitung.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat pengaruh metode discovery terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat utama di kelas VI SDN 10 Tilango Kecamatan Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo. Hal ini dilihat pada nilai rata-rata hasil kemampuan siswa menulis kalimat utama sebelum menggunakan metode discovery yaitu 43,21 dan setelah menggunakan metode discovery yaitu 74,93. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan bahwa uji t diperoleh harga thitung sebesar 13,26 sedangkan ttabel pada tingkat signifikan 5% diperoleh harga ttabel sebesar 2,160. Ternyata harga thitung lebih besar dari pada harga ttabel (13,26>2,160) maka hasilnya signifikan. Sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode discovery terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat utama di kelas VI SDN 10 Tilango Kecamatan Tilango Kabupaten Gorontalo.

The problem statement is "Is there an influence of the discovery method on the ability to write the main sentence of grade VI SDN 10 Tilango, Tilango Sub-District, Gorontalo District?" The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Discovery method on the main sentence writing ability in the aforementioned area. This quantitative research employed Pre Experimental research method with the design name "Pretest One Group - Posttest. Further, data collection are through tests, observations, treatments, and documentation. Technical data analysis used construct validity, normality test with Liliefors test, and hypothesis testing using the tcount test.
The results showed that there is an influence of the discovery method on the main sentence writing ability of grade VI SDN 10 Tilango, Tilango Sub-District, Gorontalo District. Thisis shown on the average score of the ability of students to write the main sentence before the application of the discovery method that is 43.21 while the score after the application is 74.93. Based on the results of data analysis using t-test obtained tcount of 13.26 while t table at a significant level of 5% obtained ttable value of 2.160. It turns out that the value of tcount is higher than the value of ttable (13.26> 2.160), so the result is significant. Meaning H0 is rejected,and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the discovery method on the main sentence writing ability of grade VI SDN 10 Tilango, Tilango Sub-District, Gorontalo District.
