Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah melalui media youtube kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi pada siswa kelas V SDN 97 Sipatana Kota Gorontalo dapat meningkat? Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui media youtube pada siswa kelas V SDN 97 Sipatana Kota Gorontalo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas terdiri dari 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri 2 kali pertemuan. Dalam teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan pada siklus I pertemuan pertama hanya 8 siswa yang mampu menulis karangan deskripsi dengan presentase nilai 36% dan yang tidak mampu 14 siswa dengan presentasi nilai 64%. Pada siklus I pertemuan kedua hanya 14 siswa yang mampu menulis karangan deskripsi dengan presentase nilai 64% dan yang tidak mampu 8 siswa dengan presentase 36%. Ketika masuk pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 18 siswa yang mampu menulis karangan deskripsi dengan presentase nilai 82% dan yang tidak mampu sebanyak 4 siswa dengan presentasi nilai 18%. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui media youtube di kelas V SDN 97 Sipatana Kota Gorontalo Meningkat.

The research problem was whether or not youtube media could improve the ability to write descriptive essays at Grade V of SDN 97 Sipatana, Gorontalo City. This research aimed to improve the ability to write descriptive essays throught youtube media at Grade V SDN 97 Sipatana, Gorontalo City. This was a classroom action research that comprised of two cycles, while each cycle consisted of two meetings. Moreover, the data collection techniques of this research were observation, interview, test, and documentation.
The research finding revealed that at cycles I meeting I, there were only 8 students who were able to write descriptive essays with a score percentage of 36%, and students who were not able were 14 students with a score percentage of 64%. At cycle I meeting II, there were only 14 students who were ableto write descriptive essays with a score percentage of 64%, and students who were not able were 8 students with a percentage of 36%. Furthermore, at cycle II, students who were able to write descriptive essays have increased to 18 students with a score percentage of 82%, while sudents who were not able were 4 students with a score percentage of 18%. Thus, it could be concluded that the ability to write descriptive essays through youtube media at Grade V of SDN 97 Sipatana, Gorontalo City, has improved.
