Abstrak
ABSTRACT Owin Sadapu. Improving Students’ Learning Achievement through Problem Based Learning Method on Social Science Subject at VII Grade, SMP Negeri 7 Wonosari. Education Economic Administration Study Program, Faculty of Economy and Business, gorontalo State University. The research is based on the lack of precise models of learning that teachers use and lack of students’ achievement, VII grade SMP Negeri 7 Wonosari in social science subject. It can be seen in most of students’ learning achievement that have not been optimal. This is caused by the students still have difficulty in understanding the material so it is necessary to find alternative solutions by applying a more oriented students’ learning actively. The purpose of this study is to determine whether students’ learning achievement can be improved through a method of problem based learning in social science subject VII grade SMP Negeri 7 Wonosari. Analysis and reflection in order to test the hypothesis of action is done gradually and continuously at the end of each cycle with 80% of performance indicators are measures of students scored at least 75. This research uses qualitative and quantitative method. Research result shows that there is an improvement of students’ learning achievement from 60% of students which is 15 students on cycle I to 84% of students which is 84% on cycle II. The average of value is 80,08. Based on research result, the hyphotesis “if teacher uses problem based learning method, students’ learning achievement on social subject will be increased” is accepted.
