Permasalahan yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) Bagaimana kemampuan peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama? (2) Apa saja faktor-faktor penghambat peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama? (3) Bagaimana solusi terhadap faktor penghambat peserta didik kelas VIII4 SMP Negeri 1 Telaga mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama?. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama, faktor-faktor penghambat peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama, dan mendeskripsikan solusi terhadap faktor penghambat peserta didik kelas VIII4 SMP Negeri 1 Telaga mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama.
Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Metode ini digunakan untuk memaparkan atau menyajikan data yang apa adanya tentang hasil penelitian terhadap kemampuan mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama dan faktor-faktor penghambat, serta solusi terhadap faktor penghambat peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama oleh peserta didik kelas VIII4 di SMP Negeri 1 Telaga
Kemampuan peserta didik kelas VIII4 SMP Negeri 1 Telaga mengidentifikasi unsur drama, rata-rata 67 dengan kategori kurang, Hal ini dibuktikan dari kemampuan mengidentifikasi tema rata-rata 70 dikategorikan kurang, kemampuan mengidentifikasi alur drama rata-rata 71 dikategorikan kurang, kemampuan mengidentifikasi penokohan rata-rata 68 dikategorikan kurang, kemampuan mengidentifikasi latar rata-rata 72 dikategorikan cukup, kemampuan mengidetifikasi dialog rata-rata 58 dikategorikan sangat kurang, kemampuan mengidentifikasi amanat rata-rata 60 dikategorikan sangat kurang. Secara keseluruhan kemampuan peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama rata-rata 67 dikategorikan kurang. Faktor-faktor penghambat peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama dikategorikan cukup dipengaruhi oleh faktor peserta didik, faktor sekolah, faktor sarana dan prasarana. Solusi terhadap faktor penghambat peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama disesuaikan dengan karakteristik peserta didik, karakteristik sekolah, karakteristik sarana dan prasarana.
Jadi dapat disimpulkan kemampuan peserta didik mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur drama dalam kategori kurang.

Generating from the problem statements, this study aimed to describe the ability of students to identify the elements of drama, the inhibiting factors of students to identify the elements of drama and to describe the solution to the inhibiting factors of class VIII 4 students of SMP 1 state junior high school in Telaga to identify the elements of drama.
Furthermore, a qualitative descriptive method was employed to unravel the issue. This method was used to present the data as it is on the research results.
The ability of the students at the research area to identify the elements of drama was on average score 67 (low category); this is seen in the way the students identified elements (average score 70, low category); to identify the plot of drama was on average score 71 (low category); to identify characterizations was on average score 68 (low category); to identify the setting of drama was on average score 72 (sufficient category); the ability to identify dialogue was on average score 58 (very low category), and; the ability to identify the message was on average score 60 (very low category). Overall, the students' ability to identify drama elements was on average score 67 (low category). The factors inhibiting students from identifying the elements of drama are influenced by the factors of students, school, facilities, and infrastructure. The students' inhibiting factors in identifying the elements of drama were adjusted to the characteristics of students, school, facilities, and infrastructure.
It is concluded that the students' ability to identify elements of drama was in the low category.
