Advisor: (I) Muhammad Syamsurizal, SS., MP.d Advisor (II), Nurlaila Husain, S.Pd., M.A The main goal of this research is to get information with more detail and clearly about the using of Wh-question technique in teaching writing recount text at Junior High School. This research uses qualitative approach as a method, because the researcher just focuses on the process the use technique rather than Students' outcome or products.teacher and students VIII Grade as the subject in this research through observation, interview and documentation. In applying this technique English teacher divide her classroom into five groups, there are consisting four until five Students in every group. There are two steps that are preparation and performance in applying this technique. In preparation the researcher and English Teacher collaborate to prepare the all requirement, next in performance researcher who has offering this technique and observed the English teacher in action in the classroom. The result of this research show that by applying this technique namely Wh-question technique, student can learn writing really fun, enjoyed and enthusistic also more motivate in learning writing especially recount text. This fact showing by their expression and students 'result in composing writing recount is suitable with communicative propose, rhetorical structure, and grammatical pattern of writing recount text. Most important thing that result of students writing can be read well by the reader . Key Words: Wh-question, learning, writing recount text
