This research focused on the ability of students in composing paragraph as low category and series picture is the idea of improving their ability. It aimed at finding out whether series picture can improve students’ ability in composing paragraph or not. Therefore, the hypothesis mentioned “ students’ ability in composing paragraph will increase if they are applied series picture in teaching and learning process. The research applied quantitative method by applying experimental research where data analysis applied statistically.
Research findings showed that students’ learning scores in pre test activity were in low category as observed in students detail score such as 75 points was the highest score and 40 points was the lowest score. In the post test activity, students gained 95 points as the highest score and 55 points as the lowest score. In research hypothesis verification, it showed that t count > t table as 5.81 > 2.042 with level of significance = 0.05.
Therefore, it concludes that students’ learning score has indicated that students have made a good improvement after being applied series picture in learning process. It can be observed from the great increase of students’ learning achivement in the pre test activity compared with students’ learning achievement in post test activity. So H0 is rejected and HA is accepted.
