Abstrak
ABSTRACT
ILWIN AHMAD. (2013) “ Improving Students’ Ability in Reading Comprehension by Using Revised Extended Anticipation Guide Strategy”( A research conducted at first grade of SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge).
The objective of this research is to find out whether the revised extended anticipation guide strategy can improve students’ ability in reading comprehension. The subject of this research were the first grade at SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge, Gorontalo Regency in 2011/2012 academic years, they consisted of 29 students in one class. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative method and the design of this research is experimental research by applyong pre-test and post-test design. The result of this research showed that by using revised extended anticipation guide could improve students’ ability in reading comprehension. In verifying the hypothesis of this research used the criterion would be received if t ( 1 – and would be reflected t ( 1- in the level of significance = 0.05. it it proved by the value of in the level of significance = 0.05. After doing the calculation of the data, it was found that . The result of this research found that revised extended anticipation guide strategy could improve significantly students’ ability in reading comprehension.
