Abstrak
The Application of Frayer Model in Enriching Students English Vocabulary (The Research Was Conducted at the 8th Grade of SMP N 6 Gorontalo). Skripsi. English Department. Letter and Culture Faculty. Gorontalo State University.
The objective of this research is to find out whether the application of frayer model can enrich students’ English vocabulary or not. The population of this research is taken from the eighth grade of SMP N 6 Gorontalo and the sample of this research is class VIII2, consists of thirty students. It was taken by using purposive sampling technique.The method used in this research is a quantitative method, which uses quasy experimental design. In collecting the data , I used test form, multiple choice test and matching test consist of 30 number. I gave 1 score for the correct answer and 0 for the false. The finding of this research shows that the research hypothesis is tenable. In this case, the students’ vocabulary is enriched significantly by using frayer model. It can be seen based on the verification of statistical hypothesis. The tcount for the data is -7.8, and the tlist is 2.02. The criteria of the statistical hypothesis is that the hypothesis will be tenable if – t (1-1/2?) ? t ? (1-1/2?). Moreover, it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is tenable, because tcount ? tlist. It is also found that all the data in the pre-test and in the post-test are in normal distribution.
