Abstrak
ABSTRACT: MARSELINA D. HUDJI: 2011. NIM: 321 407 062. Skripsi: “The Influence of Comics Strip Towards the Students’ Mastery On English Vocabulary”(This research conducted in class VIII7 at SMP Negeri 8 Kota Gorontalo.
The aim of this research is to find out whether or not the use comics strip influences the students’ mastery on English vocabulary. In this case, the sample of this research is class VIII7, students of SMP Negeri 8 Kota Gorontalo, which consists of 30 students. The method of this research is Quasy Experimental Method which use Pre-test and Post-test design. The instrument which used in collecting the data is the test and it was analyzed by using t-test. The result of this research shows that the comics strip can influence the students’ English vocabulary. The criteria used to verify the hyphotesis is H0 is accepted if tcount is smaller than tlist (tcount < tlist). Based on the analysis of the research it is found that tcount (-4,51) smaller than tlist (0,171) with the level significant ?: 0,05 and df (n1 + n2 -2). It means that the hypothesis is acceptable. In other word, the comics strip influences the students’ English vocabulary.
