Abstrak
Ramlah Haluti (2015): "A Descriptive Study on Students' Writing Ability in Recount Text by Using Guide Note Taking Method. This objective of this research is to investigate the using guide note taking method can be implementation to students writing ability in recount text. It is conducted by using analysis descriptive. First, survey research is used quantitatively to describe specific aspects of given population. Second, the data required for survey research are collected from people are therefore subjective, and third is survey research uses a selected portion of the population from which can later be generalized back to the population. The subject of this research is the students of ninth grade of MTs Negeri Gorontalo which consist of 890 students. The instruments which used in collecting the data are observation and questionnaire. The students score of observation based on 4 skills, namely grammar, content, punctuation and generic structure. As well as the criteria, namely score 5 which was categorized as highest, score 4 which was categorized as high, score 3 for categorized as average, score 2 for categorized as low and score 1 which was categorized as lowest. Based on the result of analysis, it was found that the implementation of guide note taking method in English writing gave good impression for students. In this method, the students can create their own ideas without considering other unimportant ideas inside. Key Words: Students' Writing Ability, Recount Text and Guide Note Taking Method
