Abstrak
Abstract
Mus (2015): "Social Deixis in Movie Titanic (A Pragmatic Study in the James Cameron's Movie)".
This research was conducted by using qualitative method. It was aimed to find out the types of social deixis, the references, and the types of social deixis which mostly occur in movie Titanic directed by James Cameron. There were several steps in collecting data namely watching the movie, identifying, taking note, and classifying. Furthermore, the researcher analyzed and explained the data by using Levinson's theory and counted the data to find out the type of social deixis which mostly occur in the movie. Based on the analysis of the data, there were two types of social deixis those are Relational and Absolute. There were three kinds of Relational which found in the movie Titanic, namely referent honorifics, bystander honorifics, and formality level. And one kind of two kinds of Absolute deixis that is authorized recipient which mostly occur in the movie Titanic. The researcher cannot found the addressee honorifics which is include in Relational social deixis and authorized speaker which is category of Absolute social deixis. Therefore, the researcher could conclude that interpreting the references of social deixis expressions depended on the speaker's perspective psychologically and physically.
