Abstrak
ABSTRACT Nuku, Hasriwaty.2015. Using Video Presentation as learning media to enhance the student speaking ability (A Research Conducted at the Tenth Grade of SMA Negeri 3 Gorontalo Utara in The Academic Year of 2014 / 2015). Graduating Paper. English Education Department of Letter and Culture Faculty, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The aim of this research is to find out whether video presentation as learning media can improve students' speaking ability or not. The research was quantitative method particularly by using pre experimental design approach with the type of one pre-test post-test design. The sample of this research was taken by purposive sampling technique; they were 16 students in the class X of SMA Negeri 3 Gorontalo Utara . The result of the research shows that the students' ability in speaking skill was increased significantly. It is proven by the differences between average score of students' pre-test and post-test (1 = 9.31: 2 = 14.25) the result of t-test at = 0.05was found that tcount > ttable with the calculation 23.12 > 1.70. Therefore, it was clear that "video presentation" can improve students' speaking ability and the hypothesis of this research was accepted. Key words: Video Presentation, Speaking Skill.
