Abstrak
ABSTRACT
Vony Fransisca Usu: An Analysis of Codes in The Last Song Movie, English Department, Faculty of Letters and Culture, Gorontalo State University. First advisor Dr. H. Harto Malik, M.Hum and second advisor Rusni Podungge S.Pd,. M.A
The type of this research is descriptive qualitative method. The objective of this research will describe about how are codes reflected in The Last Song movie. This study will investigate of Barthes classification of codes.The approach used in this research are semiotics approach. Techniques of analyzing the data based on content analysis are identification, classification and interpretation. The result of this research about an analysis of codes in The Last Song movie contains of hermeutic code, proairetic code, cultural or referential code, connotative or semic code and symbolic code. I found 16 data. It consists of 3 data which apply hermeutic codes, 5 data which apply proairetic codes, 3 data which apply cultural or referential codes, 2 data which apply connotative or semic codes and 3 data which apply symbols codes. The data reveals that in Hermeutic code reflects unlike code, curious code, confuse and surprise code. Proairetic code reflects prohibition code, disturbed code, catch code, stolen code, and responsibility code, while in Cultural or referential code reflects psychology science code, zoology code, and motivation code, Connotative code reflects pretend code and survives codes, moreover, in Symbol code reflects change life code, love code and eye candy code.
