Abstrak
Abstract This research aims to find out the influence of giving corrective feedback towards students' ability in writing English. Quantitative method was applied with one group pretest and posttest of pre-experiment design. The subjects are are students at class VIII-3 that consists of 31 students in SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo of academic year 2011-2012 which were chosen by using purposive sampling. Based on the verifying hypothesis by using paired t-test in the level significance ? = 0,05, tcount > ttable (9,4001 > 2,042), Ho is denied. The result showed that there influence of giving corrective feedback towards students' ability in writing English especially in writing narrative text. Key words: writing, corrective feedback
