Sutono, Rosdiana.(2014) : The application of index cards match method in teaching English vocabulary (the research was conducted at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Satap Boliyohuto of Gorontalo Regency, in the 2014/2015 academic years), English department, faculty of letter and culture, Gorontalo State University. First Advisor Indri wirahmi bay, S.Pd, M.A, and second advisor Rahmawaty Mamu, S.Pd, M.Pd.
The focus of this research is to determine whether applying of index cards match method can improve students' mastering vocabulary in English or not. The population of this research was all students in the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 5 Satap Boliyohuto. The research used purposive sampling in taking the sample of research. The sample of this research was the class VIIIA which has 20 students. The method of this research was quantitative-experiment design especially using one group pre-test and post-test. In collecting the data, the researcher used multiple choice tests. T-test is used to analysis the data. The result of this research showed that the students' ability in English vocabulary was increased. It could be proved with the hypothesis verification which tcount>tlist .
