Abstrak

ABSTRACT SUPRIATIN.2014. NIM: 321 409 082. Skripsi" A descriptive study on the students' writing ability in writing paragraph by using picture". The objective of this research is to describe students' ability in writing paragraph by using picture. As the subject of this research, I chose the second grade students of SMK N 1 Batudaa in academic years 2012/2013, especially in XIAkuntansi 1 that consists of 20 students. I took the subject by using purposive sampling. Then analyzing the data focus on the aspect of writing there are grammar, vocabulary and mechanic aspect. In collecting the data I used written test, the kinds of test is using one picture. In this test, student had to use three aspects in writing paragraph clearly. Based on the method of research, the data of this research were analyzed descriptively. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that most of the students finished their writing paragraph by using picture is categorized into good level. It is supported by the data of research that showed all the students total scores is 244 with the percentage 67, 77. Keywords: students' ability, writing paragraph and picture.
