Skripsi : “Improving the students reading skill by using Group Investigation Technique In Report Text” (A research conducted at the second grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Limboto in the 2013/2014 academic years).The objective of this research is aimed at finding whether the Group Investigation Technique can improve significantly students’ skill in reading or not. The subject of this research is the second grade of SMA Negeri 2 Limboto which consists of 25 students. The method of this research is pre-experimental method by using pre-test, treatment, and post test. In collecting the data this research used multiple choices which consist of 25 items that refer to 5 indicators in reading: Mind Idea, Vocabulary content (synonym-antonym), inference, explicit meaning and implicit meaning. In the analyzing this research used normality analysis and hypothesis verification.Based on the result of testing the normality of the data, researcher found that the data is normal distribution. The hypothesis is tested by using t-test formula. The criteria used to verify the hypothesis is rejected H0 if tcount is less than tlist (tcount>tlist). In this case, the researcher found that the tcount is bigger than tlist (8.15 > 2.06) with the level significance α= 0.05 and df = (n-1) = 24. This result shows that the hypothesis of this research is received. It means that the Group Investigation Technique can improve the students’ skill in reading.Key words:     Reading skill, Group Investigation Technique, Report Text
