English study program, English Department, Letter and Culture Faculty, State University of Gorontalo. Supervised by Rusni Podungge S.Pd, MA as the first advisor and Novi R. Usu S.Pd, MA as the second advisor.This study is aimed to analyze students’ interpretation on the theme of Beauty and the Beast. The method of the study is qualitative method. This study uses test to collect the data. Based on the research findings, it was found that overall students’ interpretations toward the theme is categorize as fair interpretation. However, the students’ interpretation are getting improve than before which the interpretation of students can apart from the big problem of theme interpretation that is interpret the theme as the summary or conclusion. By using scoring rubric, this study got the description about students’ interpretation toward the theme. Therefore, found that around almost 50 % students’ interpretation, interpret the theme as a subject and only two students who get highest score.Keywords: students’ interpretation, theme, Beauty and the Beast
