Abstrak
ABSTRACT Mudriqa Zein Lakoro: "Reading Guide Strategy for Teaching English Reading Skill (An Experiment Research to Tenth Grade Students' of SMA Negeri 1 Tapa, Bone Bolango Regency the Academic Year 2014)", English department, Faculty of Letters and Culture, Gorontalo State University. First advisor Sri AgriYanti Mestari, S.Pd., M.Ed., TESOL and second advisor Rahmawati Mamu, S.Pd., M.Pd. This study is about Reading Guide Strategy for Teaching English Reading Skill. The focus of this research is to see whether there is any influence of students' ability in reading descriptive text by using Reading Guide Strategy or not. The Methodology of this research was used quantitative method through an experiment Research. The population of this research was overall the students at the tenth grade of SMA N 1 Tapa. The researcher used random sampling in taking the sample of the object research. The sample of this research was class X MIA2 and XMIA3 at the first semester that given treatments by using Reading Guide Strategy. The researcher used t-test to analyze the data after the treatment. The result of this research showed that the students' ability in reading descriptive text by using Reading Guide Strategy was increased. It could be proved by the hypothesis verification which t count> t table or 3.068> 2.014. Key words: Reading Guide, Reading, Descriptive text
