Listening is one of the most important language skills. This skill used to sense and to represent the receiving words and messages through the sound that we catch with the ears. Furthermore, listening is regarded as the most difficult skills among other skills in English. Listening process often makes students easily bored. In this case the teacher is expected to increase students' motivation to remain interested in listening. Dictogloss is dictation technique that can be used to teach listening in groups. This technique has four steps, namely preparation, dictate, reconstruction, and analysis and correction. This research aims to application of dictogloss technique in teaching listening and this research was conducted at SMA N 1 Boliyohuto, the participant is the students of IPA 2 class which consist of 32 students. This research is a qualitative research and the use of observation and listening assignments of students to get the data. The research data is described based on the description of the research objectives. After making observations, the researchers describe the results of the study. Dictogloss technique has a good technique in teaching listening. It means the dictogloss technique can be used in listening and the dictogloss technique can increase of the students in teaching listening.
