Djuriyati Pakaya, (2013): “Ideal English Foreign Language (EFL) Teachers Based on Students’ Perspective ” (A Study in SMK Negeri 1 Limboto), English Department, Faculty of Letters and Culture, State University of Gorontalo. First advisor Sri Agriyanti Mestari, S.Pd, M.Ed, TESOL and second advisor Magvirah El. Walidayni Kau, S.Pd, M.Pd.
The objective of this research is to describe the characteristics that should be owned by ideal English Foreign Language (EFL) teachers based on students’ perspective. Subjects of this research are all the students in SMK N 1 Limboto. The method of this research is qualitative method. The result of this research presents that some of characteristics are very important that should be owned by ideal English teachers based on students’ perspective. Personal qualities, Professional qualities, Pedagogical skill that get the highest score 85% - 100% (very important). From 7 English teachers in SMK N 1 Limboto, 2 of them included in category of ideal English teachers based on students’ perpective. Those teachers have very important personal qualities, professional qualities and pedagogical skills of ideal English teachers.
