Abstrak

ABSTRACT Merry Montoliang. 2013. English Consonants Production of Indonesian Pre-School Aged Children. Skripsi, English Department, Letters and Culture Faculty, State University of Gorontalo. It is supervised by Mr Rahman T. Dako S.S M.Hum as first advisor and Miss Titien F. Mohammad, S.Pd. M.App.Ling as second advisor. The objectives of this research are to investigate the English consonants which can be produced by Indonesian pre-school aged children and to investigate factors which can influence English consonant production of Indonesian pre-school aged children. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. There are some steps in analyzing the data. They are data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Observation, interview, and tape recording were used to get the data. Research data show the consonants that can be produced by three years until five years pre-school aged children. The consonant production is affected by internal factors-organ of speech, and children behavior and the external factor-education, family and environment.
