Abstrak
ABSTRACT Musiyan, Lilis. 2014. Number Head Together for Teaching English Vocabulary at Elementary School. Conducted at fifth grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Terpadu Al-Ishlah in academic years 2014/2015. Skripsi. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Letters and Culture. Rasuna Thalib, S.Pd, M.Hum, (2) Sri Agriyanti Mestari, S.Pd, M.Ed TESOL The aim of this research is determine whether applying of Number Head Together can improve students' mastering vocabulary in English. The population of this research was all students in the fifth grade of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Terpadu Al-Ishlah. Technique of choice the research was purposive sampling. The sample of this research was the class V-B consist of 20 students. The method of this research was Pre-experimental design especially using one group pre-test and post-test. In collecting the data, the researcher used multiple choice test. Analysis the data used normality test and T-test. The result of statistical analysis obtained that the value of tcount is 2,33 and tlist is 2,10 at the level of significance = 0,05. The result of analysis data showed that value of tcount is bigger than tlist. The result of analysis the data showed that applying of Number Head Together in teaching English can improve students' vocabulary. Therefore, to improve students' vocabulary the teacher need Number Head Together as the learning method. Key words: Number Head Together, Vocabulary mastery.
