This present study aimed to investigate the problems of English lecturers in using media in the process of teaching and learning. The issue of technology mastery is really essential in English learning process. As the facilitator of learning, lecturers should have competence in using it. Otherwise, it can be an obstacle if lecturers cannot use the technology as the learning media effectively. Theoretically, Jones (1994:144) states that the best way to make the students understand the explanation is by using medium. Therefore, using media technology is considered as the best way to make students understand the material. This research uses qualitative method and the data are obtained from face to face interview. The research result shows that lecturers have several problems in using learning media, they are: Lack of technology skill & proficiency, Lack of experience and background, Lack of the time, Lack of technical support, Lack of physical structure and technology resources.
