This study aims to describe the heroism that portrayed by Captain Richard Phillips as the protagonist character in "Captain Phillips" movie. This study is designed by using qualitative descriptive method and psychological approach. In this research, the data were taken from statements and actions of Captain Phillips character that illustrates heroism. Then, the data analyzed by using Bernstein's theory about four component of heroism. It consists of moral greatness, ability or prowess, action in the face of opposition, and triumph in spiritual. Collecting and analyzing the data were started from identifying the data, classifying the data and interpreting the data. The result of this research, Captain Phillips character is portrayed all of these components. He becomes important figure in his appearance with all the kindness value that he gave to the others. That is what makes Captain Phillips can be categorized as a real hero.
