Abstrak
ABSTRACT
Sumardin Kasiaradja (2017): "A Study on Classroom Interaction in Learning English". (A Research Conducted at The SMPN 2 Kota Gorontalo). Skripsi, English Department, Letters and Culture Faculty, State University of Gorontalo. It is supervised by Mrs. Dr. Hanisah Hanafi, M.Pd as a first advisor and Mrs. Sri Agriyanti Mentari, S.Pd.,M.Ed. TESOL as a second advisor. This research was aimed to identify and to describe the classroom interaction in learning English used Flint System in Eighth grade of SMP Negeri 2 Gorontalo. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data in this research are all interactions in class English learning, included teacher's talk and students' talk applied by Flint's system. The participants of this research are forty students in eighth grade and two English teachers. There were four steps have been used to collect the data. The data were collected through the employment of observation, note taking, recorder, and questionnaire. The analysis result show that in teaching and learning process, teacher and students used two kinds of interactions there are: teacher's talk (teacher's action) and student's talk (student's reaction). The most kind of interactions that applied in class are deals with feelings, asks questions and praises and encourages caused those are made teaching and learning in class alive.
