Ayu Apriyanti Jumran (2016): "A Survey on the Students' Assignment by Using Social Network in Learning English"
There is a growing interest in social networks for the people in this digital age which could bring a good potential for the students and lecturers to use by exploring the use of the social network itself. This research has investigated the use of social network as a tool for the students' assignment. This research conducted in Faculty of Letters and Culture of State University of Gorontalo. As for the research question "To what extend the use of Social network can be useful and effective in the assignment due?" is aimed to find out what is the most used, useful, and effective social network for the students to communicate and submit the assignment. There were three parts of collecting the data namely; Questionnaire, Structured interview, and Semistructured interview. Furthermore, this research is conducted by using a survey method of qualitative descriptive research. As the result, this research found out that Internet is now become student's daily needs, 100% students of English department in Faculty of Letters and Culture of State University of Gorontalo are internet users, it shows by its role as a tool to communicate and to submit the assignment. Facebook and E-Mail are the most used social network for the students to submit the assignment, but it doesn't mean that those are the most favorite social network to use.
