The result of research showed that the STAD technique can improve significantly students' achievement in reading narrative text. It is supported by the statistical analysis that show t-count is larger than t-list, the value of t-count was 4,92 and t-list was 1,72. It can be formulated as 4,92 â 1,72 with the degree of freedom = (n-1) = (23-1) is of 22 at the level significance of = 0,05. Thus STAD technique is able to improve students' achievement in reading narrative text, in other words, the hypothesis of this research is accepted.
