The objectives of this research are: to describe the similarities and differences of adverbs between English and Atinggola language especially in adverb of place, manner and time, through morphosyntactic and morphophonemic analysis. This research was a contrastive analysis. It is an analysis of two different languages by paying attention to the similarities and the differences (Johansson, 2008). Furthermore, this research is worthy for young linguists to identify the similarities and differences of two different language in order to help them to avoid the difficulties to learn foreign language. In addition, this research also provides new information and new knowledge in linguistics such as morphology, phonology and syntactical process. As the result, this research showed the differences of both languages found in the use of prepositional phrase of place. English adverb of place use various preposition such as in, on, at, under while in Atinggola language only use preposition o. The other difference is also from the use of adverb of manner. English is most indicated by suffix -ly while Atinggola language is indicated by prefix mo- and gi-. They are also different in terms of using adverb of time, especially the use of tense marker in verb based on the situation. However, both English and Atinggola language has similarity on the changes of adjectives to adverbs through affixation and there is no morphophonemic process of both languages in using adverb of place that preceded by preposition and followed by proper noun.
