This research aims to find out the types of directive speech acts in Sleeping Beauty film. The data of this research are taken from the transcript of the film, which belong to directive speech acts which focuses on the utterances produced by the main character in "Sleeping Beauty" movie. The method used in this research is qualitative approach. The data are collected by Watching the Sleeping Beauty movie and transcript of the movie. In addition, the data collected are analyzed by using some steps such as identifying the utterances that contains of directive speech acts, classifying the data into the types of directive speech, and interpreting the data. As a result, the researcher found that there are 46 data of directive speech in "Sleeping Beauty Movie which are classified into five types of directive speech. The researcher found only five types of directive speech in the movie that are commanding, requesting, advising, forbidding and inviting. As a result, the most frequently used is commanding which is 24 data (52.17%), and the least frequently used is inviting which is only 3 data (6.52%). In conclusion, the reason why the characters in the movie mostly used directive speech act commanding because commanding means an order given by someone who has a strong position, and in the movie the command mostly given by the older to the younger, the king to the servant, and Maleficent (the powerful fairy) to her guards.
