The ability in speaking English is very essential. It could be the important power that students need as a tool in communication proses. However, in several Junior High School, students still does not have good competence in English speaking. Hence, this research aims to find out whether teaching English using everyday storytelling effective to improve students speaking ability or not. The researcher take everyday storytelling, because students was very anthusiasm when they talking about story. Additionally, the researcher used some theories in this research, but the main theories are uses from Morgan and Weys, Stoyle, and Jianing. The sample of this research was students at 8 Grade of Junior High School on Bolangitang Barat in 2015-2016 academic years. The method of research was quantitative methode with concern on applied three steps of design are; pre-test, treatment, and post test namely pre-experimental design. The researcher also analyzed the data by using t-test and the result showed that tcount = -7,13 at the level significance ( = 0,05) and degree of freedom (df) = 26-1 = 25, and tlist was 2, 06. It means that, there were significant differences after applying storytelling method. Furthermore, this research found that Everyday storytelling can improve students' speaking ability.
