Abstrak
The deficiency of English vocabulary is often to bring an influence in understanding English itself, thus it draws the researcher's attention to explore the students' English vocabulary knowledge and to find out whether word competition game can develop students' English vocabulary or not. In perceives to this concern, a quantitative research will be carried out. The population of this study is the Eight Grade Students of MTs Kaidipang, especially students in 8A grade ( 20 Students). This research used one group of pretest and posttest design. Furthermore, in collecting the data, this study use Multiple Choice and Fill in the blank test as the Instrument. The data were analyzed by using t- testing formula. As the result, this study showed that the Word Competition Game can develop the students' English Vocabulary. It is proved by the statistical analysis which shows Tcount is larger than Tlist, where Tcount was 14.113 and Tlist was 2,09. It can be formulated as 14.113 â 2,09 with degree of freedom = (n-1) = (20-1) is 19 at the significance level = 0,05. In addition, this study inferred that Word Competition game is able to use in developing the students' English vocabulary knowledge. Key word: Word Competition , Students' English, Vocabulary
