This research is a pragmatic study that aims to find out the utterances reflecting illocutionary forses based on Searle's classification and to analyze the meaning of the illocutionary force of the utterances. The source of the data in this research is cartoon film/series entitled the amazing world of gumball. The research applies a qualitative method in order to describe the analysis of the utterance. The data was collected by watching the cartoon series in three episodes which are The Vacation, The Pizza, and The Society. There are several steps in analyzing the data. Namely identifying, classifying, analyzing and interpreting the utterance. After identifying the utterances, the research founded there are 35 utterance found which involve assertive illocutionary force. More specifically, these utterance are categorized into 12 utterances in form of stating, 10 utterances inform of informing, 4 utterances inform of reminding, 3 utterances inform of arguing, 2 utterances inform of assuring, 1 utterances inform of denying, 1 utterances inform of claiming, 1 utterances inform of concluding and 1 utterances inform of boasting. Based on the result, this research found that Stating is the most dominant type of assertive illocutionary force which used in the all three episodes of cartoon The Amazing World of Gumball
