This research is aimed to find out the students' reading comprehension in recount text after the application of two stay two stray strategies. In this case the sample of this research is taken by using purposive sampling. The sample is 24 students of eight grades at SMP N 5 Bolaang Uki. The method of this research is quantitative method. The instruments used in collecting the data is 20 of multiple choice questions to measure the increase of students in reading comprehension in recount text by using pre test and post test design. All the data analyzed by using normality test and T-test. The result of this research showed that by following the hypothesis verification in this research was received where in the case that tcount is larger than tlist. The tcount was 4,39 and the tlist was 2,07 all of them counted by similarity level namely 23 (n-1) then level significant = 0,05. Thus, it is clearly seen that tcount â tlist or 3,39 â 2,07. The values that have been explained in this passage mean that the hypothesis can be accepted or the other words that teaching reading by using two stay two stray strategy can improve the students' ability in comprehending reading recount text.
