Abstrak
ABSTRACT
Sri Novita, 2018. 321 411 137. "Using Pictures as Media to Teach the Writing the Cinquain Poem". The research conducted at the odd semester (semester ganjil) of English language program in the 2017/2018 academic year. Skripsi English Education Study Program, Letters and Culture Faculty. The research is aimed at describing the students' word choice in the cinquain poems by using pictures as media and, describing the students' writing pattern of the cinquain poems by using pictures as media. The subject of the research was the Class 1.C students which consists of 28 students who were registered at the first semester of English Language Program at Gorontalo State University. The design of this research was a descriptive-qualitative design by using the strategy of the one-case study. The data was collected by using a written test in the form of essay test with the amount of five items. The data analysis was conducted through four components or steps. Based on the finding, it is suggested to teachers in order to use picture when teaching writing simple poems, especially in writing the cinquain poem. They should give explain more about the parts of speech, especially how to arrange order of adjective, to make present participle and to make an effective phrase in simple sentences. For other researcher, it is suggested to do a research about teaching writing simple poems by focusing on other elements of the poem because in this research the element of the poem is just emphasized on vocabulary aspect.
