This study explored the description of High Place that mentioned in Al Aaraaf (a poem by Edgar Allan Poe) and Al A'raf (an English Translation of Holy Quran by Abdullah Yusuf Ali), and the relation of both works. The presence of Hermeneutic approach become the fundamental one that is used to interpret both works. The data were collected based on the line and stanza for the poem and verse for the surah which consisted of imagery elements. Therefore, the data were analyzed by using grounded theory and categorize it into several coding based on its meaning. Moreover, the interpretation and exploration through the external factors have a big role to construe the meaning of data found. The description was coded into two categories: the Place and the Dweller which are dominated by visual, organic and auditory elements. The red-line between both works founded on the interest and knowledge of Edgar Allan Poe about the east or oriental culture.
