This study analyzes Dan Brown's novel entitled "The Lost Symbol". Semiotic of Roland Barthes is used as theoretical framework of this study. The approach applied in this study is semiotic approach which tries to explain the data of signs in the novel "The Lost Symbol" written by Dan Brown. This study is aimed to identify the signs in the novel and determine the meaning of the signs in the novel based on semiotic of Roland Barthes. There are 15 data have been analyzed with two significations. The first order is denotation and the second order is connotation. The writer also found that, there are 6 data related to the myth in American society. The sign used in this study is signifier or denotation and the meaning of the sign is signified or connotation. Finally, from this study it was known that the data reveals the controversial organization in America which is called Freemasonry. Also, the data have relation to each other; it also reveals the mystical secret and ancient mysteries about One True God.
