ABSTRACT Hadijah Dumbela. 321 411 169. 2017. An Analysis on Students' Level of Difficulties in Reading Based on Cognitive Learning Domain. English Department. Letters and Culture Faculty. Gorontalo State University. Advisors: (1) Karmila Machmud, M.A, Ph.D (2) Titien F Mohammad, S.Pd, M.A, App.Ling The aim of this research is to find out the students' level of difficulties in reading based on cognitive learning domain. The researcher took students at VIIIA Grade, in SMP 1 Talaga Jaya. There are 24 students as sample of this research. The method of this research was descriptive quantitative methods. The data were collected by giving 2 tests. First test is Kancil and crocodile text, and the second is Sura and Baya text. Based on analyzing the data, researcher found the total average of students' percentage in first and second test are Remembering 75, 8 % Understanding 69, 2 %, Applying 83, 3%, Analyzing 48,3 %, Evaluating35 %, Creating 48,4 %. Consequently, researcher found that the students' level difficulties of cognitive domain is available on the level 5 or evaluating level by total average of percentage 35 %.
