This research aims to find out what are the conflict in the novel The Hound of The Baskervilles. The data of this research are taken from the novel itself which consists of 223 pages and has 15 chapters. The data are collected by reading the novel repeatedly and focusing in the text contained of conflict itself. The data collected are analyzed by using some steps such as identification, classification, description, and interpretation. As a result, there are 18 (eighteen) data indicated conflict in this novel that are found in the main characters. All of the data classified as man vs. man. They are the conflict of Sir Henry vs. The Hotel Waiter , Sherlock Holmes vs. the Mysterious Man, Dr. Watson vs. Miss. Stapleton, Sir Henry vs. Mr. Stapleton, Sir Henry vs. Barrymore, Dr. Watson vs.Laura Lyons and Sherlock Holmes vs. Dr. Watson with Mr. Stapleton.The most exictence conflict or can be considered as main conflict in the novel is the external conflict.The main conflict occured between Detective Sherlock Holmes with the only one antagonist character in the novel namely Mr. Stepleton.
