Advisor (1) Dr. Jolanda H.D Pilongo, M.Pd, Advisor (2) Helena Badu S.Pd, M.Pd In this research the researcher focused on reading narrative text. Reading is one of four main skill in language learning and also important because through reading students can get information that they need to support the success of their study. Therefore this research is a study about The Use of Story Maker Online in Increasing Students' Ability in Reading. This research aims to investigate whether the story maker online can increase significantly the students' ability in reading or not in the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Gorontalo in the academic 2015/2016. The research conducted by using pre-experimental with concern on applied pre-test, treatment, and posttest. The sample of this research was 31 students. By counting the score before and after the treatments, the result showed that tcount = 4.451 at the level of significance ( = 0,05 ) and degree of freedom (df) = 31-1 = 30 and tlist was 2.04. It can be concluded that the hypothesis "Story maker can increase students' ability in learning english" was received. Therefore this research found that Story Maker can increase students' ability in Reading. Keywords: Story Maker, Reading ability, Pre Experimental Study
